Consultations prior to abortion

The first consultation

The first medical consultation. It allows the physician to perform a general review, to inform the woman or the methods of abortion possible and explain the risks and possible side effects.

The second consultation

The second consultation is a psycho-social care. Mandatory for non-emancipated minor, it remains optional for the major and minor emancipated. The purpose of this consultation is to provide psychological support and advice to women.



The third consultation

During this third visit, the woman must give the doctor a written confirmation of its wish to abortion.
The various methods of abortion

Whatever the method, a Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy requires a rest period, between 24 and 48.

The surgical method

This method can be practiced until the 12th week of pregnancy. Once the dilated cervix, the embryo is sucked by means of a cannula. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or générale.Après intervention, hospitalization is usually less than 12 hours.

The medical method

This method is permitted until the fifth week of pregnancy, is the seventh week after the first day of last menstrual period. The first medication is to terminate the pregnancy. A second socket causes contractions and ejection of the embryo.

The following

Between 14th and 21st day after the procedure, a check is recommended. It is an opportunity to make sure everything goes well from surgery and also to choose a contraceptive suitable.
