There are cases in which under no circumstances should sexual intercourse or sexual arousal be allowed.
Such situations include:
• Identification of a sexually transmitted infection in one of the partners during pregnancy.
• Presence of an STD in one of the partners.
• Uterine tone.
• Multiple pregnancy.
• Vaginal bleeding or spotting.
• Leakage of amniotic fluid..
• Recurrent miscarriage.
• Placenta previa.
• Threat of interruption.
In addition, there are individual contraindications that can only be identified by your attending physician who is managing your pregnancy.
